A study of mental health of secondary school students in relation to their type of school and peer pressure

Abstract
Mental health describes the cognitive and
emotional well being of human begins. The main purpose of the present research
was to study the mental health of secondary school students in relation to
their type of school and peer pressure. The objective of the study was to find
the difference in the Mental Health of government and private secondary school
students. The normative survey method has been used in this study. The sample
of the study comprised of 800 secondary school students selected by random
sampling method from government and private secondary school of U.S. Nagar
Uttarakhand. For gathering the data following Tools used were: mental health
scale by Sunil Saini and peer pressure scale developed the researcher. To
analyze the data Mean, S.D, T- Test, And Coefficient Correlation and were used.
The conclusions of the study were there is no significant difference in the
mental health of government and private secondary school students and there is a
very low positive relationship exited between mental health and school
environment of secondary school students. There is a significant difference in
the mental health of male and female secondary school students in relation to
their school environment.
