The needs for the utilization of information and communication technology (ICT) for effective teaching and learning at senior secondary schools in Nigeria

Abstract
This paper addressed the issue on the utilization
of Information and Communication Technology in
Education, the need became necessary because of the growing concern by all
stakeholders in education, that the position of ICT in teaching and learning is
nationally acceptable. The study explains the concept of ICT, importance of ICT
in Education, classification of ICT in Education, Purpose of Teacher Education,
qualities of a good Teacher. It further provides guide lines for effective
utilization of ICT in teaching and learning at Senior Secondary Schools and
Challenges of ICT in Nigeria were also discussed. Recommendations on how to
enhance teaching and learning was also forward.
